Planning on Moving to Mississauga?

December 14, 2012

Are You Planning on Moving to Mississauga? Here Are Some Great Tips about Moving Boxes!

If you are planning to move to Mississauga in the near future you are going to have to start organizing your boxes. Packing up at least part of your stuff will help you save a lot of the moving costs and more and more people are taking it upon themselves to at least be a small part of their own packing.

In order to save yourself a lot of distress at the last minute you’ll want to get to your packing early enough. You're going to have a lot of things on your mind during the last week before the move so it's best to get at least the boxes organized first. Here are some of the boxes and their sizes that you will probably require for the items in your Mississauga home.

Small boxes

These are approximately 1.5 cubic feet in size and are great for packing up canned food, books and CDs.

Medium boxes

These are perfect for games, pots and pans, clothes and other midsize items. These boxes measure 3 cubic feet in total.

Large boxes

Larger sized boxers can be anywhere from 4.5 up to 6 cubic feet in size and can fit bigger items like pillows, heavy bedding, lampshades and lamps.

Picture boxes

You’ll want to use these for any pictures, mirrors or other flat items that are fragile. These boxes come in a variety of sizes to fit virtually any size of picture or mirror.

Mattress box

You can purchase a special mattress box that will help give your mattress extra protection while it is being transported. There are also mattress bags available if you'd prefer them over a box.

Dish boxes

These boxes are amazing! They have built-in walls to separate the dishes including glasses, plates, bowls etc. and will completely eliminate the need to wrap up all of your dishware in newspaper. You can simply take your dishes out of the boxes when you arrive at your new home and not have to worry about unwrapping any paper or washing any dishes.

Wardrobe boxes

Instead of having to fold up all of your hanging clothes and then having to iron them later to get all of the moving wrinkles out, you can purchase boxes that have a metal bar inside with room for your clothes to hang. They are available in different sizes ranging from short boxes for shirts only up to taller boxes that will accommodate dresses and suits.

You can purchase these types of boxes for your move to Mississauga directly from the moving company or look for used ones in classified ads on the Internet. A lot of people that move sell their used moving boxes for half the cost that they paid for them and if you're lucky you may even find someone that is giving them away free just to get them out of the house!
